Governance is complicated, good government difficult. In Ohio, New York good governance may be both difficult and consequently rare.
The town of Ohio, NY was notified last Winter on official RDRF Road Defect Reporting Form available at https://www.townofohionewyork.com/ alerting Ohio, NY government of the preventable risk of serious injury, due to inadequate motor vehicle traffic safety signage.
Despite months elapsing, seasons changing, no town of Ohio action was taken to ameliorate these deficiencies. The result, public safety remains at serious, potentially mortal risk.
After months of inaction I investigated the status of this important public safety issue by attending a town of Ohio board meeting, and presented Ohio town Supervisor Bussey with an updated RDRF with added aerial photographs, outlining public safety deficiencies at the intersection at the North end of Kelly, and the West end of Whaley.
At that same meeting Supervisor Bussey committed to contacting the DOT to address this issue.

As of August 26, 2026 the intersection at the West end of Whaley has not been upgraded.
This friends and neighbors is the priority innocent human life, public safety receives in the town of Ohio, NY.
It may seem simple to blame a single bureaucrat for this continuing flagrant disregard for public safety. But Supervisor Bussey reminds us the intersection at the North end of Kelly has been deficient, and the town of Ohio has known it for a decade.
Blame is not the appropriate solution here.
Public safety is the objective. If not, why make Ohio’s RDRF available to each of us?
